The 7th Avenue Refurbishment project is Phase One of a multi-year plan by the City of Calgary to upgrade the LRT stations through the downtown core. The scope of work included the construction of a light rail transit (LRT) platform and canopy and included sidewalk upgrades. A combination of cast in place concrete pre-cast panels will be used for the construction of the platform. The canopy consisted of 14 galvanized steel columns and utilized bolted connections. Site erection was accomplished during a 48 hour shutdown of the LRT. A laminated glass canopy will complete the structure. In spring 2005, we demolished and reconstructed the curbs, sidewalks, and bus slab on the south side of the avenue.
