This project is located along the banks of the Rouge River in Markham. This four-pod reinforced concrete facility is clad in curtainwall with granite spandrel panels. The four, 4-floor pods are linked at every floor with themed oasis ranging from an Italian Cafe to a South Seas area complete with a waterfall. Three of the four pods have heavy labs equipped with the computer infrastructure required to run over 2,300 workstations. The facility comes complete with a market-style cafeteria, themed buffeterias, state-of-the-art meeting rooms, an auditorium and fitness centre. The site is split into two by the Rouge River, which necessitated two bridges to allow 850 of the 2,500 employees to park across the river. To mitigate traffic congestion, a post-tensioned reinforced concrete flyover bridge was constructed at the main entrance into the site from Warden Avenue northbound. A co-generating plant was constructed across the river by Markham District Energy to supply the hot and chilled water for the facility. A daycare centre has been constructed by PCL along the banks of the river. This steel stud structure is clad in EIFS and has the capacity for 200 children.
