Chlorides Management Facilities

As the general contractor for the project, PCL Industrial Constructors Inc. was responsible for the complete installation of this new facility in an operating plant environment. The project included the installation of two new Inclined Plate Settlers (IPS) complete with ancillary work to tie the new units into the existing extraction process. This included: 11 pipe rack modules, installation of pumps, tanks, filters and exchangers, extension of the existing centrifuge building, electrical building modifications, a 10-day shutdown for piping tie-ins, all associated foundation and underground work, and modifications and additions to the existing extraction facilities. Subcontracted work included electrical, structural steel, fireproofing, heating and ventilation, insulation, piling, and pre-engineered buildings.
