Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre

The Entertainment and Sport Centre (ESC) was one of three design-build projects awarded to PCL by the City of Abbotsford as part of their Plan A civic projects. The other two include The Reach Gallery Museum and Community Recreation Centre.

ESC serves as a major entertainment venue for the Fraser Valley region, featuring 7,000-fixed seats (including 300 club seats), twenty private suites, fifteen loge boxes, VIP lounge and a regulation NHL size rink surface.  In addition, the arena features a large kitchen and commissary that services the Suites Level, as well as six concession stands that are located around the Concourse Level to serve the patrons.

The structure for the three-storey building is made up of concrete, structural steel and precast concrete.  The envelope is a combination of storefront glazing, curtainwall, metal panels, brick veneer, hardi board and a thermoplastic membrane roof system.
