Project Description
This Brine Concentrator/Demineralizer project was located at the 900 MW Stanton Energy Center. Teton expended over 140,000 manhours during an eight-month timespan. Installation of the system involved the field fabrication of a 20 foot diameter Inconel 625 sump and insertion of the 10 foot diameter 105,000 pound heater into the sump. The Brine Concentrator, Crystallizer and supporting equipment were all installed in addition to the existing Brine Treatment Area. Construction of this addition involved the driving of 115 H-beam piles 127 feet long, placement of 1200 yards of concrete and the erection of 650 tons of steel. The new building was also encased in siding. The system also involved the installation of 5,000 feet of large bore and 10,000 feet of small bore alloy pipe.
